In 2022, the working group learnt from one of the retailers in the group (Coop UK) who had trialled the technology in stores that while the technology was both a big investment and complex project, the shopper acceptance was high, reducing the number of alerts, and store associate response to the technology was very positive, reducing the number of incidents of abuse.

In this meeting, we will hear from retailers on their most recent trials and then updates from across the world on the status of the approvals from government for the use of this technology in retail.
