Description

The growing "on demand" rapid delivery grocery business generated by third party platforms such as Instacart, Door Dash, Delivery Hero, Uber Eats, etc, offer physical retail stores the opportunity to grow sales and reach new customers, in some stores, up to 20% of the total sales from that store can now be attributed to the sales generated by "grocery on demand" via third party platforms.
Our working group has previously explored the critical importance of availability at the time of the pick, as substitutes [looking for them, finding them, picking them, compensating for them, etc] can account for 25% of the total cost of picking.
In this meeting, we will look at availability through the lens of the customer at home, and how the retailer and the third party platforms work together to both prevent missing items and then manage missing items claims.
The group will discuss the findings from one of the retailers, and then share back their responses and updates on how they are helping to ensure that every item ordered is delivered.
This meeting is for retailers, CPG's and academics only.
