Matt Hopkins, Professor, University of Leicester

Matt is a Professor at the School of Criminology, University of Leicester.  He has a PhD entitled ‘Abuse and Violence Against Small Businesses' and has published in a variety of journals including the British Journal of Criminology, Criminology and Criminal Justice, the International Review of Victimology, Policing and Society the Security Journal and The International Journal of Risk, Security and Crime Prevention. Matt’s work includes a number of studies relating to crimes against businesses and retail crime. He has completed work for the Home Office, European Union and Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) in relation to the crime risks business face, organised crime in business settings, the risks businesses face in relation to money laundering and the impact of mobile scanning technology on shrinkage in retail.   He currently sits on the UK Home Office Commercial Victimisation steering group.
