Social Engineering: Latest Insights on this Emerging Risk and Retailer Best Practices

Some retailers, in some parts of the world, are facing into the emergence of sophisticated social engineering scams, primarily through phone-based fraud. These scams often involve spoofed manager calls, urgent fake fines, and manipulation tactics that convince employees to withdraw cash, buy gift cards, or transfer funds to fraudsters.

In this meeting, we will explore the nature, scale and impact of this scam on the business, and the responses to the threat including training [often not enough], technology or lack of it, one retailer has removed the phone itself, fraud analytic systems, signage and cash access controls.

This meeting is for retailers, CPG's and academics only.
