Location:
Virtual

Organisers:
Michaela Schneider. ESG Manager, Fyffes, Europe
Description
The #1 selling item in supermarkets is also frequently also the #1 unsold item, leaving retailers with bruised, damaged and single bananas that they need to re-sell at a discount, re-purpose or donate to humans and/or animals.
In this meeting, which will start with a presentation from Fyffes, we will explore the latest upstream and downstream store initiatives to prevent surplus supply, manage quality and efficiently and optimise the "exit" of unsold bananas from the store.
After the presentation from Fyffes, we will hear from the retailers and their latest initiatives that include dry misting displays (8-9% reduction in unsold bananas) item Vs weight pricing, value discount bags, scaled examples of re-purposing, optimised replenishment schedules, the use of computer vision and more.
This meeting is for retailers, academics and producers only.
